Pixie's Christmas Wish (through her own voice)
Through no fault of our own, we ended up in rescue, born through the ignorance of our mummy not being spayed.
Me and my sister were born in a garden in Birmingham, in the heat of a very hot summer, both of us are tabby and i am the smallest. We had to be humanly trapped as we had not been in contact with the noisy humans and their frightening dogs along with many stray cats.
We were very scared and hungry, even though our mummy had tried her best to feed us. We travelled to our foster home and were put in a large crate with warm blankets and a bowl of food and water and a special toilet, covered over and left for 24hrs.
We heard and smelt lots of strange things.
Next day our foster parents came in and the work began, they just sat and talked to us and even tried to touch us but we showed them we are not to be messed with !!!!! (but the clever humans just put some thick gloves on)
This went on for ages but we never stopped being scared, so an idea of fetching a very friendly kitten in to try and show us that not all humans try to hurt us.
Along came Dougie.
He was left behind after his siblings had found their forever home, so he was feeling a little left out, he is a little younger than me but much bigger and a lovely jet black in colour.
He was not scared of anything, he sat on their knees and loved to play with them and purred so loud. Me and my sister just sat and watched for a while till I could resist no longer, I had to be with him.
I built up my courage and rubbed against my foster mummies leg and she completely ignored me, how dare she do that!!!
So i shouted her!!!!
Then she reached down and tickled my ear, i never went back into that damn crate and my sister wasnt far behind me.
Things can only get better for us, all we need is our own forever home so this is what I'm appealing for, I would love a home of my own, my own bed and foodbowl but most of all I want all that with Dougie, we have such a bond that to be split up would not be good for me, plus I'm only tiny so your only really looking to adopt one very large kitten.
We are both litter trained, we dont really like the expensive food, but we wont turn our noses up at a treat of a bit of chicken or the odd sardine.
and if your not watching we will pinch the dogs biscuits, even if their nose is in the bowl! (stupid Holly, greatdane)
We now are part of the family we sleep on the sofa, we watch the telly and run riot around the house.
Without the help me and my sister have had, we would have by now had our first litter of babies and the whole circle would have started again.
My sister is also searching for that special someone to come along and offer her a home, she loves to headbutt and rub against other cats, but is a little more nervy about being picked up and cuddled.
