We have recently been contacted by a local rescuer in Birmingham who is gravely concerned with the welfare of some pigeons that are currently residing in a large garage-type building that is due to be demolished and turned into a new Tesco store. The building is situated on Wake Green Road, Birmingham, B13. We have been informed that the company involved with the demolition side of the project are as follows: Vinci Construction 6230, Bishops Court, Birmingham Business Park, Birmingham B37 7YB Tel: +44 (0) 121 788 7300 Email: info@vinciconstruction.co.uk Please can you politely contact them and ask if they will allow local pigeon rescuers onto the site prior to the demolition in order to remove all squabs and flightless birds (they have already confirmed that Rentokil will be called in March to get rid of the pigeons). Additionally, if anyone is based in the Birmingham area and may be able to offer some support with the rescue operation, please email pigeonsrescue.bham@yahoo.co.uk. The owner of the property is Tesco, so please also feel free to contact them to voice your opinion: cr.enquiries@tesco.com
