If you are thinking of getting an animal from the freeads please do be aware of the following: * People rehoming via the freeads may lie to you about the dogs behaviour. So you may be bringing a dog home that is meant to be ok with cats but attacks your cat. Now imagine that with children. * Some of these "pets" may be from a backyard breeder. Don't know what a backyard breeder is? * These animals may not come to you neutered, vaccinated and microchipped which will cost £200+ depending on breed and sex of dog. Good luck in your hunt for a new friend.

Yes, to add further, please remember this:
ANYONE claiming to be a 'fosterer' for a rescue who tries to rehome a dog is NOT linked to a rescue shelter. No fosterer by law is alloud to rehome an animal in thier care.
Any animal from a shelter will be behaviour assessed by an expert and they will NEVER rehome an animal to a home unsuitable
All animals from a rescue center will be chipped, vacinated, neutered, assesed and any medical condition fully cured befor rehoming. Some shelters even offer free pet insurance for the first 8 weeks of rehoming.
REMEMBER: YOU WOULDN'T TRUST A STRANGER OFF THE STREET TO TREAT YOU FOR A BROKEN LEG... SO DON'T TRUST A FREE ADD OF 'FAKE FOSTERER' .... THE PEOPLE WHO WORK IN RESCUES ARE TRAINED AND QUALIFIED TO GIVE YOU THE BEST MATCH POSSIBLE.

its something that is rife on places like facebook... mostly i find it to be 'full time mums on benefits'. They will 'rescue' unwanted pets and then pass them on with no medical checks etc... some are in truely appauling conditons. They will often either outright lie about vaccinations or just not answer the question. They will tell people anything they want to hear, lying about temperaments and behavioural problems... not long ago a women rehomed an unassessed bull breed to a woman who showed no knowledge of caring for a dog... who had a 2 yr old child.
There seems to be an absolute epidemic in this area, its almost like a circle of these 'fosterer mums' who claim to rescue and the poor animal is simply passed endlessly round these women. One dog i was informed of had had over 10 homes and was still a puppy... she had been in this circle of women going from one place to the next, never actually wanted.
I have talked to some of these women and warned them that claiming to be a rescue or fosterer puts them in danger of prison if one of the animals attacks.... i get met with abuse and derision, they are often very negative towards the real rescue centers and educated workers. One analogy i use is to tell them if they got hurt they would demand a professional to help them... so why would they not let us do our job for the animal. Sadly they do not see at all what they are doing is making these animals eventually unfit for any home, they have not even a basic working knowledge of disease and how it spreads or any knowlegde of diets. The animals are fed poor quality cheap food. Diseased mixed with healthy...
I was told to 'f off and stop being a snob' when i pleaded with one of these women to take a kitten with flu to the vet. She was more interested in trying to pretend she knew what she was doing and justifying her 'business' instead of taking advice from a trained person. In the end the kitten suffered, she just didnt understand it was sick and wouldnt take advice from anyone. It's likely she was so ignorant of what a healthy kitten should look like that she had no idea it was sick.
No, no real registered and checked foster home will give you an animal. Please don't fall into this trap. Always ask for credentials, a registered charity number... Never go to one of these illigal 'rescuers'
