POSTED ON BEHALF OF HOPE RESCUE
Roxy is a 12 month old Labrador x (possibly crossed with staffie) and is currently on foster in Caerphilly, South Wales.
The Roxy Fact File
Dog status: Very good, can be rehomed with canine company or as the only dog
Cat status: Good but exciteable
Child status: Can be rehomed with children aged 10 years plus
House training: Good
Home alone: Good for a few hours
Basic training: Sit, down, stay, paw, no, wait and leave around food and toys - very clever and biddable
Roxy is such a sweet natured and loving dog. She is a labrador cross, possibly with some staffie in the mix. She has moved in to a foster home and is now living with another dog, cats and rabbits.
She is very good with dogs she has met out on her walks and is playful with them. She is living with another female and there were a few grumbles from Roxy as she was settling in and finding her feet with the family but they now get along great. She can be rehomed with other dogs or on her own.
Roxy is living with cats and has had a couple of moments where she has become over excited and chased. however, on the whole she has been very good with them. She could be rehomed with cats who are used to living with dogs.
Roxy is house trained but did show some fear of going out in the garden on her own at night when she first arrived in her foster home so she had to be supervised for her last wee. She has grown in confidence and is now happy to go out on her own but this could take some time when she moves on again to a new home.
Roxy has been left for up to 3 hours by her foster family and has been good while she has been on her own. She has learnt the basics and walks nicely on the lead out on her walks. She is very car sick and this is something that will need to be worked on. This will need ot be considered when potential owners condier rehoming her if there will be a long journey to her new home as she will be a bit out of sorts when she arrives until her feet are back on solid ground!
Roxy has shown some nerves around fast moving and noisy small but could possibly be rehomed with older children who are used to dogs. This is something her new owner will need to work on by gradually desensitising her to the noise and movements of children and making sure she finds their company a positive experience.
All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. We have a suggested minimum donation of £160.
