This is Rusty Red, an older ginger and white gent. He has been living outside two houses for more than two years since his owner moved away and abandoned him. He had been crying to be allowed in to the neighbouring homes, but no one would take him in, can you believe they let him live outside through two cold winters, including the snow last year, whilst they sat in front of their warm heaters and fires. He was picked up 2nd January, as I was advised the weather is going to take a turn for the worse.
He was traumatised at first at being taken from the only home area he knew and so, despite his stinking of TOMCAT, I held off neutering him until I felt he was over the trauma. (He is neutered finally). Eventfully he moved out of the aperture behind the bathroom sink and moved into the cupboard in my hallway. He likes it in there, he has two shelves all to himself and I think he thinks he has a one up one down semidetached flat. The ground floor is the bedroom and toilet, and the first floor is his lounge and kitchen. He has a wee fence as well to stop my bully cat from getting to him. There have been a couple of attacks on Red , but I think that is because of his Tom smell. Things should improve now for Red..
We seem to have settled down now. He likes the safety of his cupboard but now he comes out in the early hours of the morning and gets into bed with me. He purrs for England and snuggles in close. He likes the other cats as well, if they will let him. Except Tatty, the bully. Red just wants a family.
He has no teeth at all and kisses big kisses all over my face. He is such an admirer. His was the first face I saw on Valentines Day and it did make me smile that his hard times are all behind him now. He can just focus on admiring his new mummy (me), eating, sleeping and the rest of it.
He is a bit shy but is cute, elderly, is around ten yrs old and affectionate. I feel he would be good in a family home with perhaps a confident friendly cat that will not bully Red. Can you offer "Red" the loving forever home this Gentle Gent deserves?
