When transporting an animal we suggest:
You take a spare lead/carrier depending on the type of animal you're transporting.
Ensure that if the animal must be transferred from one carrier to another or one lead to another that it is done INSIDE a car with all doors and windows shut and as calmly as possibly.
Take some spare water and a bowl and if travelling for more than an hour allow the animal time to drink.
If transporting a dog, try to keep the dog on a blanket in case they become travel sick during the journey. The dog should also be secured inside the car while you are driving either behind a dog guard or by tieing the lead in the back to stop the dog from jumping on you while you are driving.
We STRONGLY suggest you do NOT take children or your own animals with you when transporting animals.
