POSTED ON BEHALF OF WALKIES RESCUE
Missy came in from another rescue with Buzz the staff x . She arrived really under weight and was very dehydrated . She has had a litter around 8 months ago. Despite all this Missy was very loving and even at this stage you could see her personality shining through! We are looking for a very special home for Missy she is fine with other dogs, gets on well with children . Missy is around two years old .We are looking for a home with lots of love to give, long walks and someone who is home a lot of the time. If that could be you please contact us!
Missy the first night she arrived
Stage 1
Missy settled really well into Walkies due to how skinny she was we are keeping her in the house full time. The first thing to sort out was Missy’s weight gain. We put her on a great feed we like to use made by Royal canin its ment to be for lactating biches but due to high calorie content it works fab for weight gain. The trick is to not put weight on to fast that way it stays on. We have broken Missys feed into four small meals a day at regular intervals. This has helped lots and shes gaining weight steadedly. We have also put Missy on a Bach flower remedy specially designed for rescue dogs. This has done wonders and we are so pleased with Missy’s progress.

Stage 2
Missy is such a happy dog she adores cuddles and loves to play. She came in with an ear infection she we have been treating that and she has coped great while we cleaned them daily. The first time we let Missy out in our field she ran and ran and ran. She loved our tire swing and as soon as you call her she comes racing back to you and wags her tails lots. We have been re socializing Missy with other dogs. At first she was a bit growly and nervous but after a few pack walks and play times she has started to interact properly with the others.
Stage 3
Missy is now a fully fledged member of our pack , she is good with the other dogs and will have a play but is at her happiest being cwtched up on the sofa or playing fetch. She thrives on human companionship , so a home where people are in most of the day is a must. Missy knows all basic commands and she is one of the cleanest dogs I have ever met she hasn’t had a single accident in the house whilst in our care . We are all so attached to Missy its hard not to be but we are now at the stage where Missy is ready to find a forever home. She has done so well at Walkies and we have enjoyed every minute of her being her if we didn’t have as many lifers in the rescue as we do then we would do.
